WHO ARE YOU?
You are data literate, bright and creative, and have a hands-on mentality. You have strong technical skills and you love working in an international and interdisciplinary team.
WHAT DRIVES YOU?
You know that when a disaster, such as a flood, strikes an area, aid workers need to know where to go first. Volunteers can help collecting & sharing data on the extent of the disaster. In order to do so quickly, they could use a mobile app, as lightweight and easy-to-use as possible. This is where you come in. You want to use your skillset to improve the speed, quality and cost-effectiveness of humanitarian aid.
YOU ARE GREAT AT…
-Building responsive web pages and SPAs with state-of-the-art web technologies.
-Consuming back-end web services and Restful APIs.
-Conducting code review sessions with other team members.
-Writing unit tests and debugging front-end modules.
-Testing front-end integration with the back-end.
-Writing code documentations.
The project will run for a few months. You will be able to see the impact of your solution on a real emergency response operation. The project was first pitched at the Hackathon for Peace, Justice and Security 2019 and many ideas were proposed there. You can turn them – and your own ideas – into reality!
